We are a small family in home breeder dedicated to providing healthy registered Golden Retrievers that meet the American Kennel Club's breed standard. Our focus is on preserving the wonderful qualities of this breed, so that our dogs can be used as therapy, service, emotional support, or just family pets. We strive for excellence in our work and are committed to producing dogs that will bring joy and companionship to their owners. It is our belief that the Golden Retriever is one of the best family dogs you could ever own. All our dogs are members of our family and stay indoors but love being outside running and playing on our nearly 5-acre property. Our sires and dams are DNA genetically tested and cleared through Embark and have been certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for eyes, heart, hips and elbows as recommended by the Golden Retriever Club of America. We raise our puppies strictly indoors with early socialization, handling, and behavior shaping using a blend of Puppy Culture and Avidog methods. We aim to provide a strong foundation for our puppies that will prepare our new families for success with their new companion.
Our Story
Hello! I'm April, the proud co-owner of Crowders Creek Goldens. As a homeschool mom, with 4 boys, we stay pretty busy with our 5 Goldens: Hudson, Havilah, Selah, River and Maverick and our black lab Lily. We also have 5 cats, 2 ducks and a bunch of hens and roosters! Our little sanctuary is nestled back in the woods in beautiful NC on Crowders Creek just a short drive from Crowders Mountain.

Golden Retrievers have always been my favorite breed. My first job as a teenager was working as the kennel staff at a local veterinary office and I loved it when we boarded and groomed Goldens. I longed for the day I could finally have my own. That day came on a Sunday afternoon in September 2019. Our first family Golden was Hudson, our happy boy, who joined us from a breeder in SC.

We loved Hudson so much, we added 2 more in 2021, Havilah our dark red girl and Selah our English Cream. A year later we were blessed with River from another breeder that was downsizing, and our latest addition is Mr. Maverick our beautiful English Cream stud.
Lily, our black lab, is the oldest at 11yrs and head of the pack, replacing our beloved Emmie who recently passed on at 17 yrs.

After learning more about the breeding process, we decided to do our part in preserving this wonderful breed, which led to the birth of our business. Since then, our lives have been filled with love, joy, and excitement! We would love to share this joy with you.
We believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and we work hard to make that happen. This is a family endeavor that requires all 8 of us. We strive to provide all our puppies with the necessary care to ensure they grow up healthy and happy. Our Program
We pride ourselves in going the extra mile to make sure our puppy families get off to a great start. Our sires and dams are genetically tested and cleared through Embark and have been certified by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for eyes, heart, hips and elbows as recommended by the Golden Retriever Club of America. If a DNA test finds a dog is a carrier for a condition, such as Ichthyosis, we will ensure that the dog is only bred to a genetically clear dog.
We also give a 2 year health guarantee for the new family's peace of mind. However, it doesn't stop there. We have a very hands-on approach to our puppies, and we also give lifetime support for our puppy families.
Our dogs and puppies are loved on daily by the entire family and live inside our home. Our puppies are well socialized with children, many different people, and other dogs, cats. The first 8 weeks of a puppy's life is a critical time period. During this time, the puppy is establishing its personality and how it views and responds to the world.
As a breeder, we desire to set the puppy up for success with handling changes in its environment throughout life. We implement a blend of the Puppy Culture ® Method as well as Avidog ® using Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), as well as Early Scent Introduction (ESI) on all our puppies.
Research has shown that these methods produce puppies who are better fit to handle new environments and situations. They also are easier to train, have larger brains, and are more emotionally stable compared to puppies not raised with these methods.
